OAU STUDENTS LOCK DOWN INEC OFFICES IN ILE-IFE

Students of Obafemi Awolowo University allegedly locked down offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ile-Ife today, disrupting training of ad-hoc staff for the coming elections.

The students were said to be protesting the alleged refusal of electoral officers to select OAU  students as ad-hoc staff.

Police on ground could do nothing to stop the protesting students.

It should be recalled that OAU  students last year protested over not being paid on time in some polling units after being used as ad-hoc staff in the Osun state August Guber  elections.
