I think her fans have been looking forward to this very much, and I hope they will enjoy this track as much as I do.”

Bayelsa Governor says the Niger Delta Avengers are scaring away International Investors

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, has lamented about the activities of a new militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers.

According to him, Investors have been scared away because of them.

He said this through his media aide, Daniel Iworiso-Markson,

Here is what he said: “The unfortunate development is scaring foreign investors away from investing in the country. The recent development is affecting the socio-economic growth of not only the state, but the entire region.

May I therefore call on stakeholders to discuss the way forward to nip in the bud, the unwarranted and incessant destruction of critical national assets.

The way forward is for all stakeholders to discuss the issues and the need for the Federal Government to tread with caution and not adopt military approach as a means of solving the problem.

No one person can protect the assets in the remote areas of the region. I, therefore, call on those involved in this act of criminality and brigandage to stop forthwith. We also commend the military and other security organs in their fight against pipeline vandalism and the protection of lives and property in the region.”

Orubebe to begin Court trial on May 31st

The Code of Conduct Tribunal on Tuesday adjourned trial of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godsday Orubebe, till May 31st for the defence to open its case.
Orubebe is facing a charge of false asset declaration filed against him by the Federal Government. Remember, it was the same Orubebe that caused tantrums during the last Presidential election a year ago.

Senator Omisore declared wanted by the EFCC

Senator Iyiola Omisore, a member of the People's Democratic Party has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an alleged N700 million which he reportedly received from the Office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

Omisore, who contested for the Governorship election in Osun State lost to Governor Aregbesola.

According to the  EFCC, he has been unable to explain why he got the money from the former NSA, who is also standing trial for breach of public office and money laundering in three separate courts of law in Abuja. They also said that Omisore had been evading the commission after being served a formal invitation to appear for questioning on what he knew about the money.

The EFCC letter of invitation, signed by Abubakar Madaki on behalf of the acting chairman of commission, read:

“The commission is investigating an alleged case in which your name featured prominently.

“In view of the above, you are requested to interview the undersigned on Monday, April 11, at 30, Harper Crescent, Wuse Zone 7, at 10a.m. Your cooperation in this regard is solicited.”

Shortly after, Omisore wrote through a lawyer, Wole Jimi-Bada and Co., that the interview should be rescheduled. The letter read:
“Your letter dated April 7, addressed to our client and delivered to his security at our client’s residence, has been passed on to our chambers.
“We regret to inform you that our client travelled briefly out of Abuja but will return by Wednesday evening accordingly.
Consequently, he will not be able to attend the interview schedule, as requested in your letter under reference. On his behalf, we humbly request that the interview be rescheduled for April 14, for him to honour your invitation. We regret any inconvenience this request may cause you.”
Omisore reacts In his reaction, he said:
“I read the statement issued by EFCC, purportedly declaring me wanted as an attempt by that organisation and its leadership to tarnish my image.
That statement, if indeed it was issued by EFCC, is the height of mischief and a deliberate attempt to assassinate my character. It is now very clear that EFCC is indeed playing out the script of persecuting and harassing perceived opposition groups in the country.
To be sure, there is no basis for the EFCC so-called statement. Only on Tuesday, May 24, we appeared in court with EFCC asking for the permission of the court for an extension of time in the preliminary objection to a suit filed against me.
The Managing Director of Firmex Gill, which EFCC joined in their case indemnified me from the company’s contracts and any such obligations.
In other words, there is nothing relating to me in the company’s contract deal with ONSA. The company has even sued ONSA for its inability to pay the balance of the contract so awarded to it.”

Mercy Johnson and her husband opens up about the love and marriage

Mercy Johnson Okojie has been married for four years to her heartthrob Odianosen Okojie.

In a recent interview, she and her husband Odi opened up about themselves, the love they have for each-other and why they cant cheat on each other. They also dished out about how they had met, and some issues their marriage has faced.

Grab popcorn and ice-cream and enjoy the interview.

How did you meet each other?

Odi: I met Mercy for the first time in 2008 on a flight from France. We both flew Business Class and I asked for her number but she refused. She was very down-to-earth even as a celebrity. I know how a lot of them behave but she is different. Being very focused and a go-getter, I did everything I could just to have her including her number after I set my eyes on her.

Mercy: After the flight episode, he came around to Surulere where I was getting my hair done at a saloon. Somehow, he had gotten my number and we spoke. We talked and later had dinner.

How did he propose?

Mercy: During a conversation, he suggested that we take our relationship to the next level. While we were dating, I knew we would get married because he became a part of my life and we were very passionate about each other. There was a day we attended a wedding and he said, ‘I think our wedding cake should have a tint of this colour.’

Was he comfortable with your movie roles?

Mercy: He wasn’t comfortable with the romantic scenes. I stopped taking up such roles in 2009 when I realised we were getting serious and headed for marriage. I was so in love with him that I started adjusting my lifestyle and personality to suit him. He is enlightened and well-travelled. He understands the demands of my job and has no problems with my career. He simply gives me space to fly.

What sacrifices did you make for your marriage to work?

Mercy: I learnt how to speak his language, Ishan, in less than a year. It wasn’t difficult for me because I was crazy about him. I bought CDS and Ishan literature and my husband also spoke the language to me whether I understood or not. I also wanted to be part of the discussions as well. It didn’t take me up to five months and I already knew the basics before we wedded. Also, I cut down on my dresses. He made me understand that with age, you have to let go of certain things because life is a phase.

Do you watch her movies?

Odi: No. That is because I don’t really have time to watch Nollywood movies. I would rather watch the news and a little bit of soccer whenever my busy schedule permits me.

How do keep the spark burning in your union with the birth of your children?

Odi: We crack a lot of jokes and play together because she is my best friend. I confide in her always and she is also supportive of me as well. We go to quiet places together and also attend family engagements. With the birth of our kids, I haven’t loved her any less; in fact I call her my daughter.

Mercy: I buy funny cards, which I slip into his pockets, and then he would jokingly remind me about the fact that I have two children. I also dress skimpily in bum shorts and parade in the room whenever he is around.

What attribute do you admire the most in your spouse?

Odi: My wife is an extension of myself and vice versa. When I met her, she was not a strong Christian but now I can say she is stronger than I am. She does all the praying for the family and I am very proud of her.

Mercy: It is hard to choose because Odi is the human definition of perfection, I can’t explain it. He completes and makes me a better person in all ramifications. I might have made a lot of errors if I hadn’t met him—I see some of my old pictures and cannot believe I dressed skimpily. You may think you are living the career but you are making errors. Our daughter, Purity, will grow up someday and see those things and I will have a lot of explanations to make.

What do you not like about your wife?

Odi: Absolutely nothing. She does everything I like and that has kept us strong.

Mercy: My husband is too truthful and that gets me upset sometimes. He doesn’t pretend at all.

Why did you name your daughter Purity? Odi: My wife has a heart of gold—she is kind and pure. She is without blame or blemish. I decided to name her after the qualities I see in her mum.

How do you handle disagreements?

Odi: We hardly disagree but since we wedded, I don’t think we have had any reason to invite a third party. We play a lot and handle issues maturely.

Mercy: He apologises in funny ways. Since I had the baby, whenever he offends me, he will play a particular CD and then teases me. He simply does things that make me laugh.

Do you run a joint account?

Mercy: He is concerned about the welfare of the family and has been like that from the outset of our relationship. While we were dating, he would give me money to make my hair and buy make-up irrespective of the fact that I also earn my own money. He does things that every husband should do for his wife. It was his idea. I am the sole signatory but my money is not in the account.

Odi: I love her dearly and I just want her to be independent and have access to funds whenever she desires without my permission. You wedded at the peak of your career.

Was it a difficult decision to make?

Mercy: A lot of people asked me this question when I was getting married but at that point in my life, there was nothing too big to let go, even now. I am willing to let go of everything to be with him and be happy. I am not in competition with anybody. I want to be married, I want to be with a man, just the way God has asked it be. I don’t want to take his role as a helper. He is an introvert and can stay at home all day when he isn’t working but I am the extrovert and we complement each other perfectly.

Odi: My wife has maintained a good reputation in the industry by the grace of God and I played a little role as her husband.

What is the most memorable moment in your marriage?

Odi: We celebrated our last wedding anniversary and her birthday at the Virginia Beach in the USA. It was a very good time together.

Prior to your wedding, an ugly incident threatened the existence of your union…

Odi: It was quite unfortunate. We thank God that we are happy and everything is well. Some people always say that our marriage will not last. Truth is, our love is built on the solid rock of Christ and based on that, we will keep waxing stronger.

What are some of the lessons learnt from the incident?

Odi: I learnt a lot and only people who are close to me know my story. The propaganda was from people who do not know my family or me. What God has joined together, no man can put asunder.

Did it test the strength of your love for your husband?

Mercy: Yes, it did and I did not lose any friends because I never really had any. I got to understand the mindset of people who believe it is hard for you to be happy for someone when you don’t have what they have. They criticise what you have, yet they pray everyday for it. It taught me to always think of myself first because people will always have opinions.

 What has marriage taught you?

Mercy: Patience and it has changed everything about me— this is a brand new me. It is possible that my husband attends a party and my movie is being shown. I have to do things that represent him well at all times. Ever since I had my daughter, I learned to appreciate other children and humanity the more. My husband and children are top on my priority list at the moment and acting is secondary. I would let go of everything for them.

Do you have similar friends?

Mercy: I don’t have friends at all and Odi is my best friend. As a policy, I never lie to my husband that is why I can’t hide anything from him. We have acquaintances but no close friends. Can you cheat on your spouse? Mercy: Never! Moreso, I have absolute trust in him.

Odi: God forbid that I do such.

What does Valentine and love mean to you as a couple?

Odi: Love means Mercy. We plan to have a quiet outing and take my family out to dinner. If I have any reason to love, then I must love her over and again in my lifetime.

Mercy: God is love but if I have to give love a second definition, I would say, love is Odi.

Federal Government needs $166 Billion Naira to fix electricity and transportation issues - Rotimi Amaechi

According to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, The Federal Government needs at least  $166 billion over the next five years to meet the country’s energy and transport infrastructure needs

He said this at the public hearing on Nigerian Railway Authority bill and National Transport Commission bill in Abuja yesterday.

He said:

Besides privatisation, government also realised a monumental infrastructure deficit which, as at 2015, stood at over $3.05 trillion in 30 years or $166 billion in five years, with energy and transport infrastructure taking more than 50% of that need.

“Transport infrastructure alone needs a whopping $50.9 billion in five years to cover the current gap in the sector, an average of $10.2 billion per year.

‘’Currently, the ratio of funding in the sector between the public and private is 9:1. This constituted a major disincentive to private sector participation in the industry.

Breaking News!!! NLC Suspends strike

The Nigerian Labour Congress has reportedly suspended the ongoing strike pending.

The Ayo Wabba faction of the NLC went on Strike last week in a bit to enforce the Federal Government to reverse the fuel Pump Price to N87 after the Federal Government increased it to N145.

They eventually suspended the strike because the Joe Ajaero led faction of the NLC, assured them that they would engage the federal government to ensure there was a time frame for ending importation of refined petroleum products into the country.

Army rescues another girl from the Boko Haram territory.

The Army reportedly rescued another girl from the camp of Boko Haram camp and according to them, she is one of the abducted Chibok girls.

They said in a statement:

“In addition, they rescued 97 women and children held captives by the Boko Haram terrorists. We are glad to state that among those rescued is a girl believed to be one of the Chibok Government Secondary Schoolgirls that were abducted on April 14, 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists.

“Her name is Miss Serah Luka, who is number 157 on the list of the abducted school girls. She is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka. During debriefing, the girl revealed that she was an SS1 student of the school at the time they were abducted. She further added that she hails from Madagali, Adamawa State.”

“Only two girls with the surname Luka were on the list of abducted girls and none was from Madagali, in neighbouring Adamawa State, as the military said the second student had claimed,”

But, the head of the Abducted Chibok Girls Parents group, Yakubu Nkeki, told Agence France Presse that unlike the first announcement about Amina, the military had not contacted them beforehand to establish Luka’s identity.

“I can say in my capacity as the head of the Chibok Abducted Girls Parents group that this girl is not among the abducted Chibok girls,” he said.

Meanwhile, a senior military source, who pleaded anonymity, told AFP that it was “beyond reasonable doubt” that she was among the girls snatched.

He said, “The military personnel who carried out the rescue operation and the civilian vigilantes who assisted them and those who know the girl confirmed that she is among those abducted.

“We can only change our position if the principal of the school or the government of Borno State comes out and refutes this established identity of the girl.”

One of the abducted Chibok girls found, says 6 of them were already dead.

One of the Chibok girls kidnapped from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on April 14, 2014,  Amina Ali Nkeki, has been found, the Nigerian Army said.

Immediately she was found, Amina was reportedly recognised by a civilian fighter. She told her rescuers that six of her abducted colleagues had died while others were being held in Sambisa Forest by their abductors.

The fighter belonged to the Civilian Joint Task Force, a vigilante group set up to help fight Boko Haram.

Aboku Gaji, leader of the vigilante group in Chibok, said,

“The moment this girl was discovered by our vigilantes, she was brought to my house. I instantly recognised her, and insisted we should take her to her parents.

“When we arrived at the house… I asked the mother to come and identify someone. The moment she saw her, she shouted her name: ‘Amina, Amina!’ She gave her the biggest hug ever, as if they were going to roll on the ground, we had to stabilise them.

“The mother called the attention of other relations to come out and see what is happening. The girl started comforting the mother, saying: ‘Please Mum, take it easy, relax. I never thought I would ever see you again, wipe your tears. God has made it possible for us to see each other again.’

“Afterwards, we had to make them understand that the girl would not be left in their care. She must be handed over to the authority.”

Nigerian Corpers lament about their Allowance.

Looks like even our Corpers, especially the ones in metropolitan areas like Lagos are not satisfied with their allowance, especially with the happenings in Nigeria presently.

Here is what a corper wrote:

Help my #19,800 is finishing. Many of my mates who are serving in some part of the North and East were welcome into the communities they will be serving for the next one year as kings and queens.

But the story is different here in Lagos. Report said over 50% of corp members were rejected at their PPA including me too.

The most painful thing is that the #19,800 government allawee for the first month of service is finishing gradually. Between today and yesterday, I had spent over #2,000 on transport fare alone looking for PPA. I can't even remember how much I had spent on feeding.

I can't just imagine how someone serving in Lagos will survive with #19,800. Are you asking about the government allawee or the token from the PPA. Government is only paying those working in ministries . Others are on their own. Some PPA owned by individuals don't even mind you giving them something out of the #19,800.

They actually need the money. Many of them are struggling to break even. NYSC in Lagos is survival of the fittest. I dare not call them at home to send me money to augment the #19,800. How will I even tell them????

It has got to a point you need to look for something to do as plan B especially in state like Lagos or else person go do service inside debt and pity.

Entrepreneurship is the future of our country. Lagos is a land of opportunities that is if you have a skill you have developed or learned a trade.

As for me, na to dey manage my allawee ooo. No to bottle water, no to Mr.Biggs and the likes, yes to Molue and Iya Segun Alamala.

Lagos na land of hustlers, you have to be wise with your #19,800 or else...a word is enough for a wise otondo.

Start preparing for life after service. Don't ever plan of looking for job and if you will, have something that will serve as back up. Now is the best time to start saving for the future...Obey the clarion call with wisdom and sense. I talk my own o #vincentadeoba #19,800pallaver #diaryofaLagoscorper

FG: Real reason why fuel price was increased.

The Federal Government has said that the main reason why it increased the fuel price was because the country was broke.

Nigeria’s foreign earnings had drastically reduced in recent times and the only way to generate funds for the Nation is to increase fuel price seeing that it's a commodity that is heavily depended on by Nigerians.

The Minister for Information, Mr Lai Mohammed while briefing newsmen yesterday said:

“The current problem is not really about subsidy removal. It is about the fact that Nigeria is broke. Pure and simple.

“It is like when somebody who has been earning N100,000 a month is faced with a situation where his employer says, henceforth you will be earning N10,000 a month. He would need to make some very painful decisions and some very painful adjustments. That is the situation with Nigeria today."

BREAKING NEWS!!! ASUU Declares Nationwide Strike

National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi has mobilized members of the union for strike and mass action commencing Wednesday to force the Federal Government to revert the pump price from N145 to N86.50.

He did this in a letter sent to members of the congress nationwide and read at the University of Ibadan Chapter where the Chairman, Dr Deji Omole mobilized members to get ready for mass resistance to what he called the obnoxious and callous policy of fuel price increment.

According to Omole, the policy of subsidy removal was the most criminal ambush from the Mohammadu Buhari-led federal government to empower the rich and cripple the poor.

The ASUU boss who said that the common denominator to all Nigerians is poverty added that the same APC government that failed to pay civil servants for months is now celebrating budget signing with the legalization of black market.

Omole who noted that many state governors who now align with the removal of subsidy ran their states aground through wasteful spending added that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission should beam search lights on state governors.

ASUU president in the letter entitled “Increase in Pump price of Premium Motor Spirit to N145 perlitre: Proposal for Joint Action with NLC stated that ASUU members are called upon to according to our Union’s principles, fully respect Article 2 of the Constitution of ASUU; that our Union and members shall work for the protection and advancement of the socio-economic interests of the nation. Branch Chairpersons are to conduct emergency congress meetings on Tuesday 17 May 2016 to mobilise our members for the action commencing on Wednesday. All branches of ASUU nationwide are to comply”
Ogunyemi anchored the position on “delayed, partially paid and in most cases unpaid salaries for a number of months by state, federal and local governments, disguised retrenchment of workers, especially by State Governments, in the name of verification exercise and endless hunt for ghost workers and heavy taxation”.

FG threathens to arrest Labour workers that have decided to go on strike

The Federal Government has decided to arrest Labour Workers that has "stubbornly" decided to go on strike after the pleadings of the Federal Government. The Awo Wabba faction of the NLC were infuriated by the injunction of the NIC and decided to go on strike which commenced 12:00am on Wednesday. The federal Government through its Secretary David Babachir Lawal said this on Friday night after its meeting with the Ayo wabba faction ended in deadlock.

FG gives a no work no pay directive

The federal Government has given a no work; no pay injunction for members that have decided to join the National Labour Congress Strike.

This was gotten Yesterday night from a directive signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal. According to the SGF, this was as a result of the fidobedience of the NLC to the injunction of the National Inducstril Court.

Here is what the statement reads:
“This notice is regrettably given in spite of an order by the Industrial Court against the strike action.
“All workers, whether in public or private sector, are reminded of the Trade Dispute Act, 2004 which provides:

“‘Where any worker takes part in a strike, he shall not be entitled to any wages or remuneration for the period of the strike and any such period shall not count for the purpose of reckoning the period of continuous employment and all rights dependent on continuity of employment shall be prejudicially affected accordingly.”

“Government, therefore, calls upon and advises all workers to respect the laws of the land and to desist from participating in an illegal strike action. “Government undertakes to guarantee the safety of workers and their work places, and expects that normal work will continue in the interest of the nation, ”
He concluded by saying any act of prevention of normal activities would be met with adequate response from the Law enforcement agency. Source: Vanguard news

Wabba faction of NLC finally decide to commence strike

Despite the injunction given by the National Industrial Court restraining the NLC from commencing their proposed strike over the hike in fuel price, Ayo Wabba faction of the NLC with the Trade Union Congress have decided to go ahead with the strike at a National Executive Council meeting held at Abuja yesterday.

An anonymous source at the end of the NEC meeting told vanguard that:
"Our decision not to suspend the strike was further fuelled by the injunction by the industrial court, restraining us from proceeding on the strike that is expected to begin"
Meanwhile, Joe Ajaero's faction of the NLC has decided not to join the strike but to wait for the two weeks reported expected from the committee set up at its meeting with the federal Government yesterday.
According to the Secretary of JAF, Abiodun Aremu: ‘’The mass action is on! Let them come with the injunction, we would disobey whatever injunction they are coming up with.” No strike — Ajaero Meanwhile, Factional President of NLC, Joe Ajaero, yesterday, faulted the restraining order by NIC stopping the planned strike and mass protest. Ajaero, while reacting to the restraining order by the President of NIC, Justice Babatunde Adejumo, contended that it was wrong for the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to have gone to court over a matter that parties were already on a negotiation table.

It’s black market injunction —Wabba’s NLC, TUC Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, faction, led by Ayuba Wabba, alongside TUC, and Joint Action Front, JAF, at separate meetings in Abuja and Lagos, described the restraining order by NIC as a black market injunction. Leaders of Wabba faction of NLC and TUC, at their emergency National Executive Council, NEC, meeting in Abuja, insisted that once the strike commences today, only the joint NEC of NLC and TUC could call it off. Although newsmen waited anxiously to be briefed on the outcome of the NEC meeting amid the court order, leaders of both bodies left the Labour House, Abuja, venue of the meeting without talking to journalists. However, Vanguard sources at the meeting said NLC and TUC were infuriated that, while government was on one hand negotiating with them, its officials were on the other hand, seeking a black market injunction, and threatened to use the strike to make a statement to the government. One of the leaders, who attended the meeting but spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “Our decision not to suspend the strike was further fuelled by today’s (yesterday’s) injunction by the Industrial Court, restraining us from proceeding on the strike expected to begin tomorrow (today).” Corroborating the position of Wabba-led NLC and TUC, Pro-Labour Civil Society Groups, Joint Action Front, JAF, vowed to disregard the restraining order. According to the Secretary of JAF, Abiodun Aremu: ‘’The mass action is on! He equally wondered why the President of NIC would give an order on an ex-parte application without putting the other party on notice as was the practice. Ajaero said: “This was not the first time a court would try to stop labour action. If you could recall, when Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was the president of NLC, there was a court order against planned strike by NLC and TUC, which Oshiomhole described as a black market injunction. “It was very wrong for the Attorney General of the Federation to have gone to court while parties in this case, the federal government and Labour, were already on the negotiation table.” “Ajaero restated his earlier position that labour could not have mobilised sufficiently enough for today’s strike without exhausting all avenues for settlement. “When we spoke with you yesterday (Monday), we insisted that there was no way we could mobilize, sensitize and even start an action tomorrow (Wednesday). ‘’That we would rather negotiate and it is only when the negotiations might have collapsed that we take the option of going through any action. “On the basis of that, we agreed that a committee should be set up to, among other things, look at the issue of minimum wage; look at the issue of N500bn social investment; look at the issue of setting up or reconstituting the PPPRA board and review the N145 new pump price of petroleum product. ‘’The committee is to report back in two weeks time. I won’t like to drag it more than this than to say this is the summary of the agreement reached.,” he stated. Ajaero, however, insisted that his faction, including NUPENG, PENGASSAN, NUEE, among others, would not go on strike over fuel price hike by the Federal Government. He spoke after his faction’s meeting with federal government officials ended early , yesterday morning. This was a few hours after the meeting with Ayuba Wabba’s faction ended. The meetings, which ended without conclusion, were in session at press time last night. They started late yesterday evening.

Federal Government reaches agreement with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)

The federal government has finally reached an agreement with the Joe Ajaero led faction of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The reached agreement is to set up a committee to resolve issues over the new pump price of petrol.

The committee is expected to address the downward review of the pump price, determine new minimum wage and consult with the PPPRA for effective price regulation of petroleum products.

They are also expected to submit their report in two weeks time.

Governor Ambode donates 50 BRTs to ease the transportation issues accompanied by fuel price hike

The Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday donated 50 mass transit buses into the operations of the Bus Rapid Transit scheme.

This was done to ease the stress and complaints accompanied by the increase in the fuel price. The Government also promised that the bus fare would remain unchanged despite the increase in fuel price.

The Managing Director, Primero Transport Limited, Fola Tinubu, said the governor’s gesture would not only cushion the effect of fuel price, it would stabilise transport fares.

He said, “The introduction of the 50 buses was undertaken by the governor to reduce the effect of the hike in fuel price on Lagosians in the hope that more people in Ikorodu and its environs will enjoy the BRT service while leaving their vehicles at home.

“This will go a long way in reducing traffic to the road users and waiting time at various terminals.

“The multiplier effect of this development is the creation of more employment opportunities for drivers, fleet officers, inspectors, mechanics andticketers, among others, for the smooth running and operations of the scheme."

Private operators to manage Airports in Nigeria

The Federal Government has declared its intention to handover the ownership and control of airports in Nigeria to private Investors. This would serve as an avenue for increasing the Nations wealth.

It further shows the Government's commitment to the Nation despite the challenges facing it.

He also announced plans by the federal government to establish aviation development bank and an aviation university to provide funding and quality technical manpower for the industry.

The Minister reiterated the commitment of the federal government to fast track the development of the sector through public private partnership.

He further announced the reorganization of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to create employment opportunities for Nigerian pilots.

It was the first aviation stakeholders’ forum since the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari came on board.

FG claims that hike in fuel price is not because of fuel subsidy removal

On Monday, the Federal Government increased the price of petrol from the initial N97 to N147. Even though this didn't go down well with many Nigerians, it made fuel available and it was believed that the Federal Government removed subsidy.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, speaking at a news conference in Abuja, justified the increase in the price of petrol to N145.

He also faulted a claim that the new price regime was about removal of subsidy. He further debunked the claim.

Read what he said below:

“We have no choice but to liberalise the price of petrol if we are to end the crippling fuel scarcity that has enveloped the country, ensure the availability of the product and end the suffering of our people over the lingering scarcity.”

“There is no subsidy to remove because no provision was made for subsidy in the 2016 budget. Last year, the government paid out N1tn in subsidy, and that’s one sixth of this year’s budget. We can’t afford to pay another N1tn in subsidy.”

Justifying the government’s action, he said the fall in the price of crude oil had led to the reduction of foreign exchange available in the country.

This, he explained, had forced marketers to stop the importation of the product, thus making the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation the supplier of over 90 per cent of petrol.

Pastor advised Tiwa Savage to return to her husband TeeBillz

After several issues being raised by Tiwa Savage and her husband in her recent interview.

Singer cum Pastor, Felix Aigbe Libarty has  called out  to Tiwa Savage to return to her husband.

Here is what he said

"TeeBillz is under serious attack from the pit of hell, and as such, Tiwa should not allow the devil to use  her  husband  to destroy her future.

It’s one thing to  be famous and it’s another to know how to manage fame. I want  her (Tiwa Savage) to go back to her husband immediately because there is no divorce spiritually except when the man is no more. I want her to know that if God wants to announce any woman that is matured, He will always match  her with a man. In this case, that is what God has done for her.”

“I want Tiwa Savage to begin to understand that whatever is happening to her now is an attack from the pit of hell. Her husband is in deep trouble. I am sure that his pastor has not been able to tell him that he’s under attack. The devil may not attack you directly, it will attack your partner. Spiritually, as I am seeing it, her husband (TeeBillz)  is under attack. Every behaviour her husband is exhibiting now is  manipulated. The Bible says, you have to be there  for your husband, and your husband will be there for you.

Whatever that is going on now, remains the fact that your husband is being manipulated by spiritual forces that doesn’t want you to grow.  And by the time you walk out of  your marriage, you are giving the devil the opportunity to destroy your life completely”

Conservative Leaders defy Barrack Obama's directive.

A directive from the US Justice and Education Departments told public schools across the US on Friday to let transgender students use the facilities that match their gender identity.

Politicians in Texas, Arkansas and elsewhere have vowed defiance after the Obama administration asked them to let students use the bathrooms and locker rooms they prefer.

The Parents of the transgender students met it with tearful praise - but conservative leaders rejected it vehemently and said the President Barack Obama's Administration forces its liberal agenda on states that roundly reject it,' Mississippi Republican Governor Phil Bryant said

Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin called the directive 'groundbreaking'. He said in a statement:

“This is a truly significant moment not only for transgender young people but for all young people, sending a message that every student deserves to be treated fairly and supported by their teachers and schools,"
