Jonathan Congratulates Buhari on Victory

In the spirit of sportsmanship, President Goodluck Jonathan has put a call through to his major opponent in the presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC to congratulate him on his impending victory at Saturday's election and assure him of co-operation.

Buhari who is leading incumbent President Jonathan by almost 3 million votes with only one state left to be announced is almost certain to have won the elections going by the results so far announced.

Collation continues by 8 pm and final declaration will be made by INEC chair, Prof. Attahiru Jega.

Presidential Polls Latest: Only one state left to announce

Collation of the presidential elections continued this evening at the national collation centre.

APC's General Muhammadu Buhari leads incumbent President Good luck Jonathan with more than 2 million votes with only Borno state result yet to be submitted.

Borno state's result is expected to be ready when the collation process resumes by 8 pm today, and this would allow for final collation and declaration of results by INEC chairman, who is also Chief Collation Officer

PDP Agent Causes Scene at Collation Centre

A PDP agent at the National Collation Centre Elder Godson Orubebe is causing a major scene and is currently disturbing the collation of Presidential elections.

He said INEC chairman was being selective with the way he is going about the collation. The major issue is the INEC delegation sent to Rivers state to investigate irregularities as submitted in a petition by APC. Orubebe claimed Jega failed to respond to petitions of the PDP about votes in Kano, Katsina and some other states.

He said "We have lost confidence in what you are doing, we don't believe in you anymore, you have been compromised. we will not take it from you". You are tribalistic! You are partial!

It took about ten minutes before normalcy was returned to the hall and Jega replied to the allegations.
Jega made it clear that he had not received any official petition from the PDP.

Jega described Orubebe as a statesman in his own right, being a former minister of the federation, and told him to be mindful of the kind of allegations he makes, as well as his public conduct.
