Some students allegedly attacked the newly elected Students' Union President of Obafemi Awolowo University, Akande Omotayo yesrernight. A release from the PRO-elect Ojedokun Emmanuel (Kant) reads :
PEOPLE'S PRESIDENT TY ATTACKED AND ASSAULTED
In almost a similar attack to the 1999 cultist attack that led
to the Killing of George Iwilade aka Afrika. The students'
president,
Omotayo Akande aka TY was unruly assaulted by two
students some minutes ago, as Ismail and Teddy tore the
president's
cloth, beat him up and left marks on him. Students are
gathered at the Union building as I write demanding the
parading of this
two students. However, security report have it that this
same Teddy was reported last 3wks when he beat up the
current
president of department of psychology. Great Ife beware as I
write the president is not in a good state of health, his
glasses is
broken. Greatest Ife, let it
be known that this is second attack on the union leaders in
the last two weeks.
