Marketers, NNPC workers suspend strike.

Nigerians can finally heave a sigh of relief, as lifting and supplying of petroleum products have recommenced yesterday. This was due to the suspension of the strike by marketers and officials of the NNPC.

Two marketers, NIPCO and Capital Oil were reported to have resumed work yesterday while the other major marketers will resume today, due to their lack of overnight supply facility.

Fuel scarcity rocked the Nigerian state for about two weeks following strike actions by NNPC workers and refusal of oil marketers to supply petroleum products since May 18th.

Fuel, especially petrol has been sold at blatantly high prices, as high as N500 per litre in the black market.
