The Ode Irele community in Ondo state has begun a spiritual cleansing against the plague killing people in the town. They believe a diety- Malokun is angry and responsible for the plague because of people who stole from their shrine
While speaking, an indigene said the Malokun goddess was angry due to desecration of it's shrine.
“Malokun goddess is angry with us and this has been revealed by our priests. We have begun the spiritual cleansing with all women in the town fetching a bucket of water each to pour at Malokun shrine”.
Meanwhile symptoms of the plague in Ondo state does not resemble those of Ebola or any other known epidemic
