Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Yusuf, former inspector-general of police, is dead. He died at 85 years in his house in Abuja after a
protracted illness on Wednesday.
He was buried on Thursday in
Katsina municipal.
The late Yusuf was Inspector
General of Police from 1976 to 1979.
Dikko Yusuf was chairman of Nigeria LNG in 1994 when a consortium led by Halliburton was bidding for a contract to construct a LNG export facility in competition with the US corporation Bechtel.
In 2000, he became chairman of the
Northern cultural and political association,
the Arewa Consultative Forum.
He contested in the 2003 Presidential elections as candidate of Movement for Democracy and Justice.
