House of Reps elections Postponed in Jigawa



The Independent National Electoral Commission
has postponed elections in
seven federal constituencies out of the eleven in Jigawa state.

The resident electoral commissioner
Alhaji Halliru Aliyu Tambawel said this while speaking to news
men at INEC headquarter in Dutse.

He said the postponement was caused by the short-fall of sensitive materials including ballot papers
and results sheets from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The seven constituencies are; Dutse/Kiyawa, Ringim/ Taura, HadeJia/
Kafin Hausa/Auyo, Jahun Miga ,
Gumel/Maigatari/Sule tankarkar/ Gagarawa, Kaugama/
Malam-madori and Gwaram Federal
constituencies.
Elections in Babura/Garki, Birnin Kudu /Buji, Birniwa/ Guri/
Kirikasamma and Kazaure/Roni/
Gwiwa/’yankwashi federal constituencies are expected to hold as slated.
The resident electoral commissioner also said, the Presidential election and senatorial elections will hold today at all 27 local
government areas in the state.
