Three card readers have failed to read the president's and his wife's biometrics and accredit them as eligible voters.
The President arrived the polling centre at 9:20 am and was yet to be accredited after one hour as three card readers rejected his card.
Jonathan was later accredited manually and said he will return by 1 pm.
INEC chairman Attahiru Jega had earlier said in places where the PVCs fail, the commission's officials should resort to manual accreditation.
