President Muhamadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, as the 19th Inspector-General of Police.
The announcement came amidst speculations over who will eventually emerge as a successor to Solomon Arase after his mandatory 35 years of service to the force.
Several IGPs were screened but the President chose a different person that was not too popular. It was said that the President wants a person that will sweep clean the Police Department.
