WOW!!! Petrol tankers calls off strike

The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN),in collaboration with the leadership of the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) in Lagos today begin to lift fuel after suspending their planned industrial action over the alleged non-payment of N20 billion debt owed them by the federal government.

Obafemi Thomas Olawore, the executive secretary of MOMAN, who made this announcement last week while briefing newsmen in Ikeja, Lagos stated that NARTO and PTD have started loading petrol for distribution to various outlets all over the country.
He confirmed that some of their members has started collecting their part of the N154 billion subsidy money released recently by the federal government, and he was hopeful that very soon all of them would collect.
‘We want to state that an aggregate subsidy arrears owed the marketers by the Federal Government stands at  N354.4 billion out of which the Federal Government has expressed concern over the fuel scarcity being witnessed in some parts of the country and has released the sum of N154.2bn as payment for fuel subsidy. Thus an outstanding debt of N200.2bn is yet to be paid.
