The Police in Bayelsa State have launched a manhunt for an unidentified driver of a Nissan Sport Utility Vehicle over alleged killing of a man and running away with the corpse along the Ogbogoro community road in Yenagoa local government area of the state.
The hit-and-run incident, which occurred Tuesday at about 7pm along the Ogbogoro-Famgbe road, was said to have caused pandemonium in the area.
Sources from Vanguard confirmed that the manhunt is by the Azikoro Divisional Command.
Though the prompt response of a team of police special Op’s on patrol in the area, according to an eyewitness led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, “the owner drove away amid a crowd of sympathizers.”
The deceased, aged 34, was taking a walk along the Ogbogoro road when he was hit from behind.
