Osun, Oyo workers, FCT Teachers go on strike

State government workers in Osun and Oyo states have embarked on an indefinite strike action, following the failure of the governments in the two states to pay their salaries.

Osun state Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Jacob Adekomi said “The indefinite strike action will be total. Workers are advised to stay at home while pressing home our demands. That no worker should resume work until an announcement is made by the labour bodies to that effect.”

Also, teachers in the FCT have embarked on a strike. This was due to the reinstatement of an old salary structure which is far less favorable than the one in place before.
