Update on the Current closure of the Obafemi Awolowo University

Yesterday we reported here that the Management of the OAU has shut down the school due to the recent protests by the students of the institution over epileptic power and water supply cum agitation for the renovation of residential halls.

We uncovered from a very reliable source that it wasn't because of that but it was because of the violence by the students to the extent of beating up people, confrontational attitudes and for the unruly disposition of the Executives of the Student Union.

According to the source:

"It was shut down because of the violent, confrontational and insolent posture  of the current Student Union Executive.
You all need to know that Student Unionism is not gangsterism or hooliganism. These Executive members have been operating like common hoodlums".

We really hope that the on going crisis would end soon so things can normalize as this "closure" would delay the originally schemed University calendar
