The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has upheld the judgement of the election petition trinunal, by dismissing the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s
flag bearer in the August 9, 2014 governorship election in Osun State, Iyiola Omisore.
The Justice Gana Mshelia-led Appeal Court dismissed Omisore’s appeal unanimously for incompetence, adding that the grounds of the appeal did not arise from the judgment of the tribunal.
The Election Petition Tribunal, led by Justice Elizabeth Ikpejime had on January 6 thrown out Omisore's petition before he appealed the decision.
He (Omisore) has vowed to fight for his mandate till the end, and may be heading for the Supreme Court.
